Strings

Violin, Cello, Viola, String Bass

We offer private violin, cello, viola, and string bass lessons at the Music Center. Our outstanding teachers are able to teach all levels, from beginning to advanced. The area schools do not have orchestra or string programs, so this is an opportunity for students who desire to play a stringed instrument to have high quality instruction.

Early Strings
This is a great way to introduce your child to the violin. Designed for 4 & 5 year olds, the lessons will teach violin and music basics in a fun and engaging way. The preschool and early school years are an ideal time to begin musical training; children are more motivated to play and learn. The charge for the lesson included violin rental, there will be an additional charge for books. Two students can also share the class and pay half the cost.

Orchestras

Con Brio Orchestra

Con Brio Orchestra - A string orchestra for beginning string students is held on Saturday mornings. This is for all string students in the area who are just beginning lessons. It is a great opportunity to motivate young students to play and practice. The time spent playing together will be fun and relaxed. Led by Celo V’ec, the orchestra will meet every Saturday morning, 11–12 p.m.

Sfz String Orchestra
Sfz String Orchestra - All area bowed string students and artists are invited to become a part of The Sforzando String Orchestra. This group meets weekly to play music together and to enjoy the company of other string players. There is no age limit to the group, and you do not have to take private lessons at the Music Center to participate. Grants from the Minnesota Arts Board and US Bank allow us to offer this opportunity for free. Led by Celo V’ec, the orchestra meets every Tuesday evening from 7–9 p.m.
